"M-City" project is the latest and one of the largest condo project that is going to be developed in downtown Mississauga. Rogers Real Estate Development Limited and Mayor Bonnie Crombie Announce $1.5 Billion Real Estate Investment in this project. It will be a mini city inside a city with over 2 acres of parkland and future proof design.

M-City would consist of 10 high rise towers, 15-acre, 4.3 million sq. ft. master planned community which includes over two-acres of public parkland in the downtown core. Inspired by Mississauga’s own Downtown21 Master Plan, Rogers Real Estate Development Limited proudly launches M City as the first major residential condominium development by the Rogers family.

Key M-City community features include extending existing city streets on a unique, angular plane to create a fine-grained network of blocks, enabling a pedestrian-friendly environment. Typical residential blocks will provide two-way roads with on-street parking, generous sidewalks and residential frontages.

Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie said. "These new planned developments by Rogers are consistent with the City of Mississauga's commitment to build a livable, walkable city, home to mixed-use residential and commercial developments that are connected to an extensive public transit network," Mayor Crombie added.

New York-based urban design firm Cooper Robertson was brought on board to design the framework for M City. Cooper Robertson partner Donald Clinton was the lead designer on the project.

“Mississauga is off to a great start in establishing its downtown core. You have an identifiable eastern gateway with the Absolute Towers as well as some great public spaces in the area like Celebration Square, City Hall and the Living Arts Centre,” says Clinton. “The opportunity with M City was to define the western edge of downtown. That was our goal as we planned a walkable, sustainable mixed-use community that emphasizes the public realm.”

With frontage along Burnhamthorpe Road and connections north and south along Mary Fix Creek, the M City site enables a range of urban settings.

“We took our time to make sure we got every last detail right,” says Urban Capital Property Group Partner, Mark Reeve, who added that the M City Master Plan has been fully approved by the city. “Downtown Mississauga is undergoing intense urbanization. Its citizens are young and ambitious and represent a diverse, urban culture. That is why Rogers chose the name M City. They wanted the project to reflect their enthusiasm for downtown. It’s an enthusiasm that we share.”

M City will launch with an iconic first tower after Rogers Real Estate Development Limited and Urban Capital held a design competition with three of Canada’s top architecture firms. CORE Architects delivered a winning design that will redefine Mississauga’s skyline with a striking, undulating tower that rotates seven typical floor plates in repetition as it rises 51 storeys.

Rogers Real Estate Development Ltd. will own and develop the project. It has engaged New York-based Cooper Robertson to design the framework and Canadian developer Urban Capital to manage the process.
